Shopping Beyond Paris and New York

When you think of shopping capitals of the world, you would immediately think of Paris, New York, London, and Los Angeles. And while many people think that these popular destinations are the mecca of fashionistas and shopaholics around the world, it seems that there is a new breed of shopping destinations that most people don't know about.

According to Forbes Traveler, these new shopping destinations offer shoppers more than just the "usual" designer labels. The Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, the Østerbro area in Copenhagen, the souks in Marrakech, and the neighborhood in Shibuya, Tokyo are considered treasure troves for shoppers who are looking for gorgeous finds - from tailor-made jeans to leather goods, shoes, to kitchenware, bed and bath, and crafts. Shopping from these places "may just be the perfect way to personalize your look," states Colleen Clark of Forbes Traveler.

Palermo Soho in Buenos Aires is also one of these new shopping destinations. A trendy shopping district within Palermo Viejo (the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires), Palermo Soho has many shops and boutiques offering a wide array of products such as clothes, accessories, shoes, furniture, and many more. Local artists and craftsmen also assemble in this area to exhibit and sell their works of art. Chic, edgy, and totally bohemian, it is a popular place of the young, hip crowd of the Argentines including foreign tourists.

Shopaholics -- those who are willing to travel a hundred or a thousand miles just to get the best buys -- may very well check out Palermo Soho for the many eclectic things it has to offer. And when staying at this fashionable district, accommodations is not a problem as there are many nearby hotels and bed and breakfasts that one can go to.

The Casa Alfaro Bed and Breakfast is one of these. It is located right in the heart of Palermo Viejo in Buenos Aires and offers warm, cozy rooms with that casual and homey feel. What could be more relaxing after a day of shopping than being cocooned in soft sheets on a plush bed in a room with a view of the garden? Or lounging in the patio sipping your favorite drink? Next to shopping, staying in this chic bed and breakfast is probably the best thing one can do while in Palermo Soho. #
