Altamont Court Hotel Featured in Award-winning Indie Film
A 2006-released independent film titled "Last Stop for Paul" showed Altamont Court Hotel as the place where the two lead characters stayed during their pit stop in Jamaica. The film is about a comedic journey between two friends named Charlie and Cliff who are on a globe-trotting mission to pay homage to their dead friend Paul by scattering his ashes around the world. Along the way, they encounter a lot of interesting and weird people -- making their journey a series of wacky adventures in comedic proportions.
When Charlie and Cliff decide to go to the Full Moon party in Thailand, a stopover in Jamaica takes them to the Altamont Court Hotel, where Cliff has this idea that they could stay at the hotel for free by pretending to be a pair of travel writers working for Frommer's.
Written and directed by Neil Mandt, "Last Stop for Paul" has won numerous awards including Best Picture and Best Comedy given by many award-giving bodies such as Independents' Film Festival, Solstice Film Festival, Lakedance International Film Festival, Plymouth Film Festival, among others.
